Karambolage is an instrumental trio from Aarhus, Denmark. Their second album SKÆLMSK, released on January 16, 2026 via Moment of Horseplay records, is an honest, uncompromising and playful continuation of their 2023 debut Prås.
Untranslatable SKÆLMSK captures the band’s musical ethos, suggesting a kind of mischievous precision; playful but deliberate, smiling on the edge of collapse. The music grins crookedly, yet bites hard. It toys with expectation, with rhythm, with what almost repeats but never quite does.
Karambolage move along the fault lines between avant-garde post-rock, explosive desert rock, dissonant jazz and progressive doom. The trio’s members are, or have been, active in bands such as Bersærk, Eigengrau and IIIrd Alternative, a shared lineage that feeds into the band’s volatile and tightly focused sound.
On stage, Karambolage have earned a reputation as a powerful and dynamic live act, performing at SPOT Festival, Colossal Weekend and Vinterjazz, and supporting Aiming for Enrike and Astrosaur.
